Austin Hosts Their 20th Live Nativity and Christmas Celebration

On December 16th at 6:00 pm, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and the citizens of Austin are once again hosting their annual Christmas celebration. This is always a festive evening and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. Following the Live Nativity, hot chocolate and cookies will be served at the Austin Fire House to warm everyone up and get in the mood for the Turkey raffle. Tickets for the raffle are available at local businesses in Austin, and are free for every $5.00 of merchandise bought (you MUST BE present to win.) We're also sponsoring a canned food drive for those who need extra help during the Holidays, so please bring your canned goods or non-perishable items to the Fire House before the Nativity. The Annual Austin Fly-In is this Weekend!

The Austin Fly-In, sponsored by the Austin Lions Club, will feature pilots from over five states. The event will feature a BBQ dinner served around noon, followed by flour bomb drops, touch downs, and other airplane games. This is always a great event and it kicks off  at 10:am, Saturday, September 27th, at the Austin Airport and lasts most all day. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome! St. Augustine’s Architectural Salvage Sale & Dedication Celebration

This Saturday, September 27th, Austin is celebrating the ten year, million dollar restoration of the former St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and its new life as a cultural arts center for Nevada. It’s beautiful, functional, and ready for another 148 years of serving as a gathering place in central Nevada. The church features the only known, intact Henry Kilgen pipe organ in the world! Don't Miss Austin's "Prospectors Dream Wine Walk" on September 13th!

Yes, we have a lot of fun at this event! Plan a trip to Austin on September 13th for our annual Prospectors Dream Wine Walk. This is truly a unique experience where wine lovers can enjoy both a sip of wine and a taste of our town. The walk begins at 2:00 PM at the Austin Museum and continues on to several locations along our historic Main Street. A hay wagon will pick everyone up at 5:00 and take them to Stokes Castle for a sunset dinner. Following dinner, we’ll make a toast with special
souvenir wine glasses, then ride back to town. It’s time to take a taste of Austin!

7th annual Lincoln Highway Car Show This Weekend!

This weekend is the 7th annual Lincoln Highway Car Show. There will be live music this year, featuring Terry and the T-Birds, and we are doing the dedication for the new "Loneliest Highway Visitors Center". 
Saturday April 12th
            9:00 am: Cars start lining up on Main Street
            11:00 am to 3:00 pm: Live Music featuring Terry and the T-Birds
            12 noon: Tri-tip dinner
            1:00 pm: Visitor Center dedication
            2:30: Poker Run
            10:00 am to 5:00 pm: Car Show downtown
